Brake pads POWER STOP or OEM Volkswagen
I replaced brakes on my wife’s CX5 for about $200 in PowerStop parts. Easy peasy.
I use powerstop ceramic and love them. I also have the slotted and dried rotors. Far superior than stock.
We recently made this to our caddy Mk1, all home made with help from friends with some skills, total cost, honeslty I dont have any idea haha: Engine is from a 2008 R32 Drivetrain from a 2004 R32 (6-speed manual, also have The DGS setup) Haldex is manually operated so is not and will not workas on the R32, you can drive front wheel drive or 4wheel drive (pushing a button). ECU and engine harness is from an R32 so it works as it should. Front suspension, hubs, etc were upgraded to acommodate Mk3/Scirocco 16v Discs (my dad did some crazy stuff in there but it brakes awesome)
I’ve had the powerstop pro ceramics and their rotors since I bought my JK in 2012. Replaced with same, never an issue
They have been great. Quiet, I like the pedal feel, they stop the truck well, no dust.
I’ve had powerstop z36 rotors and carbon pads on 2 trucks so far and I haven’t had a single issue with the pads, and no brake dust is nice too.
Power Stop Z26-687A Extreme Performance Brake Pad
I've been using powerstop track day spec pads for 5 years and aside from crazy brake dust they are the ultimate bang for buck.
I need to change my brake pads and rotors soon. I'm using ECStuning, because it's the best place that I know of. I'm looking for OEM, don't need anything fancy shmancy. What are the differences between https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/economy-brake-pad-set-front/jzw698151/ and https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/front-brake-pad-set/5c0698151/ ? The 2nd one says without pad wear sensor, do I even need that? First one barely has a description, I don't even know which I should grab. Secondly, does my 2013 VW Jetta S 2.0 have rotors or drums in the back? I think I have rotors in the front? If rotors, what size do I even need because ECS is telling me I need 280x22, but deutsch auto is telling me a different pattern.
Whenever I talk to people they don't say too much about reliability, but what they do say is how they hate the maintenance costs with VWs. $100+ oil changes, paying for maintenance items off warranty at dealer (brakes), etc.
