Brake pads OEM Volvo or OEM Volkswagen
I just got my first W12 Phaeton back from the dealer after her 141,621 mile service. Total cost for thorough once over, cleaning out of sunroof drains, repair of brake pad warning light due to corroded wire
Brakes feel really grabby, brake very well IMO
Jetta has been relatively trouble free but a few quirks here and there. Sometimes the electronics glitch and then figure themselves out. For some reason my car burns through bulbs like crazy, especially the rear lights. Rear brakes had to be replaced around 30-35k. However, the car is an absolute tank otherwise.
I have 2005 S60 Turbo as a daily. Bought it brand new in 2005 and she now has 157,000 trouble-free miles. However, being a European car, replacement items can be pretty expensive. I've replaced: brakes and rotors ($1,200).
Big fan of engine breaking... In my 03 GLI I ended up selling her at 160,000...replaced rear brake pads once, and never the fronts... Clutch was still tight and never any problems.
stock mk4 brakes will clear
I need to change my brake pads and rotors soon. I'm using ECStuning, because it's the best place that I know of. I'm looking for OEM, don't need anything fancy shmancy. What are the differences between https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/economy-brake-pad-set-front/jzw698151/ and https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/front-brake-pad-set/5c0698151/ ? The 2nd one says without pad wear sensor, do I even need that? First one barely has a description, I don't even know which I should grab. Secondly, does my 2013 VW Jetta S 2.0 have rotors or drums in the back? I think I have rotors in the front? If rotors, what size do I even need because ECS is telling me I need 280x22, but deutsch auto is telling me a different pattern.
My brakes are also "grabbier" and harder to modulate than my '16 GTI (312mm), which had great brake feel.
Ugh, somehow these pads are even dustier than the stock pads on my STI. I didn't know that was possible.
My front pads were noisy, kept the front wheels covered in dust and suffered from crystallisation due to severe driving conditions (temperature, humidity and slopes). The noise began at 1500mi and now at 6800mi it is so loud that it can be heard from 60ft away.
