Brake pads OEM Toyota or OEM Mazda

OEM Toyota Brake pads

Didn't need to even change the break pad more then once. Never need to to add oil because it never burned any. Even on its last oil change no sign of burning or sludge build up.

Pros: no oil burning, no sludge
Cons: break pad change
Mileage: 175000 km

amazing truck - I daily drove one in California (gasoline 1fz-fe is arguably the best Toyota motor ever IMO) for several years. Geared for off-road, doesn't cruise comfortably on freeways above ~70mph. 12-13 miles per gallon city or highway, always the same number. It never stranded me, so very reliable.

Pros: very reliable
Cons: eats brakes
Vehicle: Toyota Land Cruiser

OEM Toyota Brake pads

Stock brake pads lasted 3 track days which is insane for £65. Ive never had such good stock pads, I nearly always upgraded them and I'd never use stock pads on track as thats mental, but these are insane.

Pros: insane durability, good performance

I always useToyota/Honda pads. No noise, and they last longer. NAPAs best pads may or may not squeal, factory pads don't.

Pros: no noise, last longer
Cons: NAPA pads may squeal

OEM Mazda Brake pads

Had the same scenario with my cx30 after changing the brakes, only the car messages were things such as engine malfunction and dynamic control malfunction which is ridiculous. Clearing the fault using a Bluetooth obd and the torque app was enough for me, thanks for the post.

Pros: easy fault clearing
Cons: engine malfunction, dynamic control malfunction
Vehicle: Mazda

Similar thing happened to me today, vehicle is 2023 cx-50, 25k mile, not even 2 year, in upstate ny with weekly car wash, gentle on gas and brake. They said front pads are 30%, rear pads are 50%, quoted me $600 to get new front pad & rotor, and rear brake service(cleaning, lubrication). Just 2 month ago from another mechanic's report (same delear), all pads are above 50%. I don't think it's that bad that both pad and rotor need to be replaced, so I denied the work,

Cons: expensive repair, unnecessary
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 25000 km

I went to the Toyota dealership to get my free oil change, brake pads were nearly at EOL. Went back to the same Toyota dealership for my next free oil change, same brake pads suddenly had 4mm.

Cons: brake pads nearly EOL
Vehicle: Toyota
