OEM KIA Brake pads

I have a 22 Telly, 103k miles. I’ve replaced rear or front brake pads can’t remember which at 102k, and routine oil changes. THAT’S IT.

Pros: routine oil changes
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 165761 km

My 993 C4S with “big reds” squealed when I did a brake job using aftermarket pads (Textar OEM replacements). After putting up with it for a few years, I swapped them back to Porsche Genuine pads. Squeal was gone instantly.

Pros: squeal was gone
Cons: squealed when braking
Vehicle: Porsche

Pros: amazing, easy maintenance
Vehicle: Kia Optima
Mileage: 128747 km

I found the GT3’s brakes to be very easy to modulate. They bite very quickly for carbon ceramics and give you the impression that they could bail you out of most situations. Since the GT3 feels so damn planted, braking also feels like a total non-event. You don’t feel the weight shifting forward in a dramatic fashion or anything like that, brake engagement feels very immediate.

Pros: easy to modulate, immediate engagement
Vehicle: Porsche 911

The Stinger is notorious for this same problem—I know first hand. Sad part is don’t let Kia touch it because the problem is the brake pad. OE pad material adheres to the rotor.

Pros: OE pad material adheres
Cons: brake shudder-vibration
Vehicle: Kia
