For brakes I run Scirocco 10.1 fronts with Mintex red pads, MK3 200mm rear drums- i used to have to be careful when I ran 195/50/15's because of accidental lock, but it's much improved with the 205/50/15's (Toyo R1R's- best tire i've had).
i put HAWK ceramic on mine. I used the listing for the GTI and they work, but over time I had to extend the backing plate with weld to stop rattle. They are awesome pads with good street manners.
I got them on my 08 r32 and there pretty good stop great with the hawk pads i got on it i got the cross drilled /slotted had them on for a few months now and there still shiny and great looking.
I upgraded the pads and rotors to drilled Zimmerman discs that I painted black except for swept area and Mintex pads from Autotech.
I have Hawk HPS currently all around. Rears have almost 25k miles on them and still a lot of pad left. That said I had about 7mm of pad on the stock rears when I took them off so it may just be my driving style.
My Mk2 VR had the full Corrado G60 front and rears. I used Zimmermann stock replacement rotors and Hawk HP Plus pads. They did an excellent job.
For future reference I use Mintex pad all round (occasionally Pagid) Cross reference Front Pads MDB 2601 Rears MDC 1924 Front 365mm Floating Discs VW PATTERN PART ONLY!
i have hawk ceramic brake pads front and rear along with ss brake lines on my 2012 golf R. I got them from ecs tuning and they work great! nice improvement over stock.
Acabei de instalar algumas pastilhas Hawk que não vieram com o sensor e o som de aviso e a luz já estão começando a me deixar um pouco louco.
Mintex red/Mintex red - mediocre for the street - squeaky on parking brake - slightly less bite than OEM - pads can leave deposits causing warping - very inexpensive - brake dust is easier to wipe off than from other pads
