Brake pads Ferodo or OEM Volkswagen

For pads I went with OE quality ones as they were under half the price of VW and a decent brand.

For track purposes, I upgraded my rotors to stoptech slotted, pads to ferodo 2500, steel lines, and rbf600 fluid. Gets the job done, and stays consistent over the course of a typical track day. The braking power/feel is not much greater over the stock rotor/pads combo, but holds up better to the heat (those OEM pads do like to melt, if abused).

I also run Motul RBF600 fluid and Ferodo DS2500. I use my R as DD (~13K miles/year) and about 10 track days per year. Setup is fine for both and I recommend it as a good setup for your situation.

I typically run RBF600 with Ferodo DS2500, changed at the beginning of spring and after each HPDE (back to OEM brake fluid in the winter). Massive improvement over the stock for sure, but at the end of a 2 day track weekend the pedal will be on the softer side, which improves after brake flush.

Not the OP but I want to change the fronts to anything lower in dust, these things are a mess.

I need to change my brake pads and rotors soon. I'm using ECStuning, because it's the best place that I know of. I'm looking for OEM, don't need anything fancy shmancy. The 2nd one says without pad wear sensor, do I even need that? First one barely has a description, I don't even know which I should grab. Secondly, does my 2013 VW Jetta S 2.0 have rotors or drums in the back? I think I have rotors in the front? If rotors, what size do I even need because ECS is telling me I need 280x22, but deutsch auto is telling me a different pattern.

I swapped out the rear pads on my 2017 Mk7 Golf R following the instructions for doing so with OBD Eleven Pro to a "t" and still wound up with a plethora of error codes. I installed new (Ferrodo) pads

The EXACT same on my trend line 2018 Golf. Just a further note. When we brought it in so they could look at the brakes due to our complaint, there was black ‘goop’ all over the rest of the rear suspension of the golf. The service manage could only theorize that the brake pads ‘melted’ and basically sprayed the wheel well... on BOTH rear wheels.
