Kwok gave me a source to purchase and got me hooked on those DS2500's. They're still my pad of choice for the front brakes.

Pros: pad of choice

Ferodo Brake pads

The Ferodo DS2000 performed very much the same, but they were much more reliable. No rotors were harmed and they wore at an average rate. They were noticeably more dusty (than the EBC's), but its nothing a garden hose can't cure.

Pros: more reliable
Cons: more dusty

Yeah, don't do it if you don't need it. Slotted, cross drilled, and dimpled rotors are not necessary unless you are over heating your brakes. Rotors are nothing but a big heat sink, and if you remove material, you have lessen'd the effectiveness of that heat sink. VW's have very good brakes from the factory, and all you need is a good set of pads for 99% of your cars use. I use stock rotors (Brembo for VR6) and Ferodo pads for daily use, autocross and lapping days. I use Stock rotors and KFP pads for Time trials and Solo I days. Unless you are into wasting money on things that do not actually make your car stop better, stick with stock.

Pros: good for daily use
Cons: not for 99% of use

Well I have to desagree because I have used each one of them and the best for performance are Ferodo, EBC are good but they don't last that much I put a new set for a solocross and they didn't go for more than 30 laps, Mintex are a little better than stock and no dust ... Ferodo are the best, no dust but will wear your rotors in the long run

Pros: best for performance
Cons: wear your rotors

I'm running Ferodo DS2000 pads and Zimmerman crossdrilleds on my Corrado. I just did my first track event last weekend and my rotors are warped. The pads worked very well on the track, no brake fade at all. This was with (3) 20 min sessions on a 2 mile road course. They do create a lot of red brake dust so that may be a factor for street use. I would stay away from Zimmerman rotors. I drove around trying to cool the car down after every session and they still warped. They are more "show than go". I was told to stick with ATE or Brembo rotors by some experienced racers.

Pros: no brake fade
Cons: lot of red dust
