I live in Socal and bought mine from a dealer out of state. Get on bimmerpost and search, there are a few like Jeff Steele from Passport BMW or a finance manager at Camarillo. If you are hard on the brakes like I am looking at Ultimate care+ is worth it. I’ve used its twice already to replace pads and rotors
DS2500’s were the best hybrid pads I’ve used. But I only did 1-2 a year.
Gt4 brake pads ran me about 1000-1100 for ferodo ds3.12.
Rotors and brake pads set you back about 3k every 3 years. Very easy to replace on your own as well.
Good brake pads 250 and 30 minutes of work.
For me, this car is all about the brakes in terms of gaining lap time. You need to really trail hard into and during the corner and of course it’s a rocket after that.
Did brake rotors and pads myself parts about 400-500$. Brakes never wore out either they just warped.
I daily and autox ferodo ds2500, pretty happy with them, more dust and noise than an oem pad but can withstand light track work. Doesn’t sound like an awful bus/train but the occasional squeak happens.
I had a track day today with 1 hour session and closer to the end they were fade. When I took the pads out to check I noticed that they are extremely glazed like covered with a melted metal. Also, looks like they covered rotors with this melted metal, the inner side of both of them. The outer rotors surface is fine. The outer pads look the same glazed.I was checking them yesterday last time and they looked fine. The friction material looked fine and not that glazed. It's on the last photo.I was trying to brake short and strong all the time. There car is Suzuki swift sport.Brake pads ferodo dsuno.Track Zolder.
You bought a BMW and now have to pay to keep it running and this is what it costs.
