I get mine for my AZ swift sport from RHD Japan. 3 track days and no fade etc. no squealing. A bit of dust. Endless CCrG. If you’re not tracking it then get Endless MX72+ Or Project Mu HC+ Locally you may be able to get EBC yellow stuff.
I haven't investigated ceramic pads for the Golf R but based on the Hawk Ceramic Compound Performance Pads I have on my A4, which has huge RS4 front calipers and B7 S4 rears, I'd try them as they are quiet, generate negligible dust and are easy on the rotors.
Hawk HPS brake pads
I like my Hawk HP Street 5.0 pads and both were purchased from TireRack and helped increase my stopping power.
I am quite happy with Hawk HP+ on my NB.
Hawk DTC 50 or 60 on front, DTC 10 on rear. Squeals for sure! Works great with cheap stock rotors and toyo RA-1 or RR... Its my daily (300k km) and now backup track car when weather is iffy
I have these, like others have said you can just get stock 33 GTR pads and rotors off of z1 if your in the states. I recommend if it’s in your budget DB5000(front)3000?(I think for rear) and some hawk ceramics, braided lines. It’s a huge difference from stock by upgrading whole system and depending on how much you drive it will last forever. I’m on like year 6 since upgrades and and the pads and hats are still in great shape
Hawk hp+ and a small car duster, they are dusty. You loose some initial bite but the more you dig in the better they work.
Had one in 2012. A cba 2009. Blew transmission. Covered under warranty. They put in a DBA transmission and bellhousing. Had full bolt ons and the car was fun. Ran mid 10\u2019s at over 130 mph. Stock brakes sucked. I upgraded to J hook rotors and I think hawk pads.
I ran the MX72s until I melted them onto the rotors as well.
