I've ran EBC RedStuff pads on my GTI and now my R and they are great. Any brake pad creates dust but these are a lot better than stock.

Pros: great, better than stock
Cons: creates dust

ONE8TURBSKI said: Check for brake pad deposits, VW uses absolute garbage for pads these days. Click to expand... Yeah so I think this may be it. I took it out a weekend morning ago and did some standing on the brakes. It's much better now. Actually can live with it.

Pros: much better now
Vehicle: Volkswagen

My pad in recent years has been EBC red. Better initial bite than OEM, no fade, no dust, no noise. If you track, EBC yellow might be a better choice but they tend to squeal at low speed. My only negative opinion is Hawk HPS which had scary bad initial bite when cold. They were OK after a few stops.

Pros: better initial bite, no fade
Cons: Hawk HPS bad initial bite
Vehicle: Audi TT

I got EBC red pads from ECS for my SQ5 I got 40000km to a set of fronts/rears but man they were shot when they came off.

Pros: 40000km pad life
Cons: pads were shot
Vehicle: Audi SQ5
Mileage: 40000 km

I wouldn't; it could throw off braking performance ... like now your rear pads bite harder than your front. Plus your front do most of the work.

Cons: unbalanced braking
