i have akebono pro act ceramic pads on my golf with 20thAE brakes. they dont seem to be wearing down in the past 5 years, and the rotors have no grooving or wear on them. nice change from doing an annual 4-wheel brake job

Pros: rotors have no grooving

I replaced the OEM BMW pads on my wife's X5 with a full round of Akebonos a month ago and the difference in dust is just amazing. They have a nearly-OEM feel and she (the wife) doesn't notice the difference.

Pros: amazing difference in dust
Cons: nearly-OEM feel
Vehicle: BMW X5

Put a set on my last E38 and immediately stopped the blackening of the wheels, while still delivering excellent stopping power. You do give up a tiny bit of initial bite, but they are still quite progressive and predictable, which is just as important.

Pros: excellent stopping power
Cons: tiny bit of initial bite
Vehicle: BMW

Akebono Brake pads

good pad, virtually no dust, for compariso, had a set of EBC red stuff didn't notice much of the difference when swapped to Ake. Differently recommended for DD use.

Pros: virtually no dust
Cons: no difference with EBC

StopTech slotted rotors and EBC Yellow pads. Rotors and pads have one track day on them and a few thousand commuting miles. My OEM rotors with the same brand pads lasted 4-5 track days and 30k miles.

Cons: vibration under braking, shuddering
