Brake pads Bosch or Raybestos

Bosch Brake pads

I change brakes at least yearly, sometimes more often if I'm driving in mountainous areas alot. I always buy the Bosch ceramic brakes and just buy the low cost rotors because I change them at every brake change (cheaper than having them turned in Phoenix). I buy everything off Amazon. A four wheel brake job will cost me less and $100. 2019 LE.

Pros: cheap, easy to install

Bosch Brake pads

I've been using the Bosch QuietCast ceramic brakes in the past and have zero complaints so I think I'll go with these: BOSCH BC1212 QuietCast; Ceramic - Rear ($26.79) BOSCH BC2076 QuietCast; Ceramic - Front ($37.79) I'm looking for high quality/high value. I don't need "high performance", I'm not doing any track stuff, just basic commuting but would like longevity, value, performance, etc. I ended up getting: POWER STOP JBR1763SCR (Daily Driver) Semi-Coated - Front BOSCH BC2076 (Premium) QuietCast; Ceramic POWER STOP JBR1764SCR (Daily Driver) Semi-Coated - Rear BOSCH BC1212 (Premium) QuietCast; Ceramic It was around 260 dollars with tax and shipping.

Pros: high quality, high value, long lasting

Bosch Brake pads

I own a 91’ fj80 land cruiser. I have limited options for OEM stuff these days due to the truck being 30+ years old. I’ve got a CSF radiator in mine because having my OE unit re-cored was $1000+ and the csf was ~450. Toyota new stock, unavailable. I use 555 rod ends and sumo brand rebuild kits, koyo bearings. OE suppliers for toyota without the dealer markup. They’re quick to get here and prices are competitive (i got a guy). As long as its pretty competitive and a known brand, i’ll gladly put aftermarket stuff in my toyota as long as it is of good quality. Rock auto has aisin and denso stuff for these trucks regularly. Been putting bosch brake pads on it since i got it, no issues there.

Pros: good quality, competitive price
Vehicle: Toyota Land Cruiser

Raybestos Brake pads

I always buy from Rockauto, but check if the part is on Amazon for comparable price for the free shipping. With brake parts especially I highly recommend buying the best you can afford. Cheap pads and rotors will be noisier and more likely to warp and give vibration when braking. The cheapest pads are also usually bonded meaning the friction material is only glued onto the backing plate, and I’ve seen them separate, especially a risk if you drive where rust is an issue. Also cheap pads don’t always include abutment clips and good shims.

Pros: good quality, long lasting
Cons: noisy, warping, vibration

Bosch Brake pads

After a year I replaced the brakes and rotors, and the mechanics specifically said to stick with major brands like Bosch because they are standard, easy to work on, and easy to order parts for.

Pros: standard, easy to work on

Bosch Brake pads

I bought me some Bosch ceramic brake pads that are being advertised as low noise and low brake dust. Instead, I'm getting massive amounts of brake dust on my rims.

Pros: low noise
Cons: massive brake dust
