Brake pads Bosch or OEM Hyundai

OEM Hyundai Brake pads

My Ioniq 6 was shaking and vibrating a lot while driving around today, so I turned on the disc brake cleaning function and slowed down from 65 to 45 half a dozen times to heat up the brakes. That melted the ice around the brakes and in the wheels, and the car went back to driving normally.

Pros: melted ice, resolved shaking
Vehicle: Hyundai

Bosch’s Quietcast brakes have never done me wrong. I’ve used them in three vehicles now and had good pad life and performance on a budget. No squeaks, decent life for ceramics.

Pros: good pad life, no squeaks
Part number: BC1114, BC2045

Bosch Brake pads

Honestly for everyday driving the Bosch and centric is a good combo. The powerstop are very grabby and have a bit more stopping power but it’s not worth the extra money, plus long term normal rotors are better. Drilled/slotted don’t have as much durability

Pros: Bosch and Centric good combo
Cons: Powerstop too grabby, expensive
Vehicle: Mazda 3

If the price is right - yeah, but there are better alternatives than BOSCH, for a little bit more. I installed brakes front and rear, new pads, rotors etc ~9-10months ago, they squealed like a pig for 5-6 of them, and I drive quite a lot, not just short commutes to the shop and back. They have been properly broken into, did everything to spec, bought genuine parts, not a knockoff, squealing like mofo. At the same time, I did brakes on my dads car, diferent brand, and price was ~1 euro more. 0 squealing from day 1, even during break in period. Before they were really good, now - not so much. They work, and they will do the job fine, however there are better brands, that offer value for the price you pay. I avoid batteries made by them, because they like to go bad after warranty.

Cons: squealing, poor quality

I used to own a 2012 sonata and one day last year the brakes started acting extremely sensitive and would even to activate on their own (it would cancel out cruise control when my foot wasn’t touching the brakes) and would cause my car to feel like it was stalling out.

Cons: extremely sensitive, activate on own, car stalling
Vehicle: Hyundai Sonata
