Brake pads Bosch or Ferodo
I've been using the DS1.11 this year, and they've been fantastic. I have about 12 or so track days on them and still have some life.
I like the DS3.12 on my GR86
Love the 3.12s. They will chew thru your rotors tho
I've used both I like the bite of the ferodo's better.
So far I've been happy with Bosch brake pads.
Bosch Quietcast pads. They have good stopping power, are quiet (so far) and have low dust, so they are great for my daily driver.
I’ve ran the DS3.12... in my cayman. I get 15+ days on them... I like the harder bite from the Ferodos
I did this set up for my 2014 RDX Tech. I went with Bosch and I have to replace my front pads again and will be changing them again with Bosch.
I switched to the Ferodo DSUno. I am satisfied with its performance, but they seem to struggle because of something. Today, after the track day on Saturday, I checked it and found a crack and a gnawed edge. Also, they have uneven wear, about 0.5-1mm difference. The differences are between the top and bottom parts of the pads, front and back parts and on different sides of the same rotor (inner and outer pads). Uneven wear was with the old pads as well. Recently, I installed brake air ducts, and after going out from the track, the temperature was, in the worst case, 480C degree, which looks fine for these pads. In total, I drove for about 3 hours on tracks, one on a wet track (so no hard braking) and two moderately/hard(8-9/10) braking. The brake rotors are also new, Zimmermann blank, installed with pads. The initial thickness of the pads is 16.4mm (with the plate, the plate is 5.5mm, so the "pure" pad is about 11mm) Currently, I have eaten about 4.5-5mm of the pads in 3 hours of tracking.
I had this problem after working on a friend's Infiniti FX35 and also using Bosch ceramic brake pads.
The problem for me was that Bosch pads have a different inside and outside pad for the rears for that vehicle. I've used Bosch pads before and never encountered this.
The pads were not marked and nothing on the box indicated there were different sides so I didn't notice. But they have protruding nubs on the backing that cause the caliper to not sit properly and increase their thickness, causing constant drag on the rotors.
