Brake pads Akebono or Textar

I\u2019ve been using Akebono pads on my Mk4 20AE for a while and have been very happy with them. Very low dust. They don\u2019t have the initial bite of a stock pad but I\u2019ve never had an issue with the braking performance. I use them for hpde track days also. Additionally, very easy on rotors.

Slotted and drilled are nice, I own 3 9-3 Aeros v6 and is very hard do stop them, Akebono brakes and Slotted/drilled rotors are cost/effective for me. I definitely recommend it.

Changed to Centric high carbon rotors and Akebono pads no issues.

I got genuine discs from ML performance for much much less than dealer prices, coupled with textar pads made to the same spec as M4 pads (M4 pads are also a drop in upgrade, I believe textar is OE for M4 pads), noticed minimal difference in performance though.

Stock rotors and pads. Akeboko pads if I’ve been particularly annoyed by brake dust, but that’s an ebb/flow with how busy I am with life, work, and kids and how often I’m detailing.

I replaced my brake pads with Textar pads and they are squealing so bad that it is embarrassing to drive it around town. If you are standing outside the car it hurts your ears. I had Porsche sand down the edges of the discs and this has helped a little but not to the point I am satisfied. Although the pads are only a month old I have decided to replace them with another brand.
