Brake pads Akebono or Raybestos
Akebono makes great fully ceramic brake pads that have been long lasting, zero brake dust, and only a little squeakiness when they're cold for the first few brake presses at worst.
I went with akebono brake pads which leave a lot less dust than the OEM pads and wear slower.
I have been using this brand for ever. Perfect fit and quiet.
I’ve had Powerstop Z36 Impression: just average
Hawk LTS. Impression: very good
Raybestos Element 3. Impression: similar to OEM
Now I run Raybestos “Truck & Medium Duty” front & rear. They’re very good: low dust, low noise, good performance & pedal feel.
I've switched over to Akebono ceramic on all of my cars. They make so little dust it's kinda amazing. I would never trust them on a track day, but for daily or light spirited driving they're amazing.
I always recommend OEM pads, but the Toyota pads are going for $80 now for your Corolla. If you're on a tight budget, I'd go with Akebono for $57 at Rock Auto. Buying cheap brake pads isn't advisable.
Akebono Ceramic pads
I have used Akebonos on Jeeps, Toyotas, Ford's, Land rovers and now my BMW and honestly have never had a single issue. The biggest benefit is low break dust. They have always been noise free as well.
I always recommend the Raybestos Element3 EHT pads and rotors. We use them at work and have very little comebacks. Low noise, low dust, great pedal feel.
Akebono's were hit and miss for me. One set had an on-off behavior, and another set had a nice linear behavior
