Brake pads Akebono or POWER STOP
Just installed the powerstops yesterday. Did the break in, and they feel much better than the basics i had on. You can feel the stopping power by i would say 30% more than just regular rotors and pads.
Akebono ceramic pads, they’re amazing.
I installed power stop brakes a year ago. I have a 2004 V6, with the smaller caliper. The power stop is a huge upgrade. Been off-road with them, downhill coming from lake Tahoe with my family of 5 and full load, towed a few thousand lbs to the dump, brakes did great. I swapped because my rotors always warped, after 3 full rotor changes I had enough.
Akebono gets my vote. Tried bendix and it grooved my rear rotors. Brembo pads are noisy and dont bite when cold. Only downside with akebono is the dust they produce.
Power stops are great I’m about to get some for my Ulti that fit with my brembo calipers
Akeebono on my Armada have been great.
I hated the way my 2019 Highlander braked, no vibrations, just inconsistent and not like any other vehicle I've ever driven. I put Akinobo brake pads on the front and it completely transformed my brakes. Now it brakes normally.
Had em on my LS430, brake feel better, definitely a bit more noticeable bite
I am currently running Powerstop Trackday Spec pads on track and OEM pads on the street. I usually swap pads the weekend before, or sometimes even the night before my trackdays. Swapping pads only takes me maybe an hour, if that much, so it’s really no big deal to swap them in and out for trackdays. The Powerstop pads are definitely lacking bite at street temperatures but I wouldn’t say they are dangerous to drive with.
I have the same problem with my M340i. I've looked at Akebono but they don't appear to have any pads for the M340, for some reason non-oem replacement pads are hard to find for this car. Anybody know of a good low dust ceramic pad for the M340?
