The AST pads are amazing and have incredible bite, especially when warmed up. The pedal pressure is very linear and predictable.
Akebono all the way..made in USA too
Akebono was the oem brand last I checked, not sure if still the case. I'm using them, and they stop just like oem, no noise or issues.
switched to Akebono brake pads and brake dust was gone on my f30.
They're quiet, low dust, and take away a little of the overly aggressive initial bite (i hate it, you might not).
On my particular vehicle, the front pads and rear pads have a friction code of GG. I am currently running the Akebobo ASP performance brake pads and have been completely satisfied and impressed with the performance.

Akebono has apparently discontinued their performance ASP line and replace them with “an equivalent“. their standard line ACT pads are allegedly exactly the same, with reduced copper content. Additionally, the front pads still have a GG rating, but the rear pads are a lower FF rating.
On the factory pads you'll see around 55-60k on the original Akebonos.
Don’t recommend Akebono because their ProACT pads are weaker than stock.
