I used StopTech slotted rotors (not drilled and slotted) and semi-metallic pads on my 2006 Lexus GX470. Obviously I've changed the brake pads a few times but after 200K miles (yes, that many) my rotors are still in excellent shape. I will not buy anything else, ever
I’ve replaced brakes 7 times on my 18 AWD GT2. The set I have on now have lasted me the longest (installed them in May and have driven 5k with them). I bought mine from K8StingerStore. Rotors are Stoptech Performance Premium Rotors
I just installed front axle drilled and slotted rotors, and new pads, all from R1 Concepts, and total cost shipped (Amazon) was $56. Tax, delivery, shims, everything but silicone grease.
Installed LHT S2000 Brake Package which are StopTech slotted rotors, Hawk 5.0 front pads, organic rear pads, Goodridge braided stainless steel brake lines, bleed, and flush brake system.
Got a 2017 lancer and did the R1 concepts. Good results after only the first two weeks. Mind you! I had two seized calipers in the back and had to replace those as well. What is stated about drilled rotors is true about the cracking if you’re using them aggressively, I bought these specific ones because I read they have the better rating out of most and since I’m using them in the winter I’m not concerned with them getting too hot to crack (please correct me if my logic is not correct) but I assumed that since the vehicle was primarily being used for cold weather it would be best to go with a more reputable brand for safe stopping power.
All brake discs are now StopTech Black series one-piece, no detriment to performance vs the ATE stock two-piece, the upside is no going orange on the bells or edges like the stock discs do, pads are still PFC Z-Rated and fluid is ATE Type200, no obvious fade for fast road use.
Got the R1 concepts for the rotors and pads. Impressed by the braking power
I have R1 Concept rotors with the Powerstop Z26. Great combo.
Installed new r1 concepts drilled and slotted rotors. After break-in, I noticed a clicking sound from both front rotors, resembling a wheel of fortune. The sound happens when a pad is in. The r1 concepts rotors are dimple instead of drilled all the way through, unlike my previous Power Stop rotors. Brakes feel great otherwise, but this pesky clicking noise when I have windows down will drive me nuts. I may go back to Power Stop.
I personally have had a bad experience with r1 brakes two different times on two different cars. Not saying they're bad just won't buy again. Rotors warped almost immediately both times. New pads and rotors on both cars.
