I put the Power Stop branded drilled/slotted rotors and Akebono ProAct pads on my 8th gen front and back. Brake performance definitely improved although the ceramics are definitely noisier than oem. Overall for the price id recommend it.

Pros: improved braking
Cons: noisy pads

POWER STOP Brake discs

I bought powerstop drilled and slotted rotors from rock auto back in 2022. 3 years later they weren't even halfway through the pads. I paid $685 for carbon ceramic pads + rotors and accessories. Yes, slightly more dust but I didn't notice any significant wear on the rotors.

Pros: long lasting, low wear
Cons: more dust

I did the powerstop drilled slotted rotors thing on my Outback 3.6 which I’d run on the heavy side on family trips. The Gen 4 Outback’s are known to have poor brake performance and I thought it would be a smart upgrade for extra margin. In the end I wouldn’t recommend. More noise, faster pad wear, premature cracking around the drilled holes on the rotors, questionable performance upgrade.

Cons: more noise, faster pad wear
