Brake discs DBA or GiroDisc

GiroDisc Brake discs

I have been running giro disc on my 991.1 GT3 with pagid rs29 pads. 15 days and only about 0.5mm wear. These are the only option for PCCB conversion.

Pros: low wear, only option for conversion

GiroDisc Brake discs

I have girodisc’s on my 981 cayman, they are fantastic rotors, I started off with DS2500 pads but I used up >50% of all the pads in one track weekend at road Atlanta, I’ve got another event this weekend but I’m running DS1.11 this time around.

Pros: fantastic rotors
Vehicle: Porsche Cayman

GiroDisc Brake discs

Absolutely love my girodiscs. I’m on DS2500s which its time for an upgrade to a more aggressive pad, but they’ve held up through quite some heat lol.

Pros: held up through heat
Vehicle: Porsche

GiroDisc Brake discs

I had similar issues with my girodsics when I got them. The bigger issue was the rotors were hitting the top of the caliper and SCREAMING even when I wasn’t braking. I got in contact with Girodisc and they sent me some more spacers to push the caliper away from the rotor a bit more.

Pros: manufacturer provided solution
Cons: rotors hitting caliper, screaming noise

DBA Brake discs

Oh when I got high carbon DBA rotors with PMU pads the screeching was unbearable for street driving, track was fine with all the hard braking, but light breaking around town…..screeeeeeech.

Pros: track was fine
Cons: unbearable screeching
Vehicle: Nissan
