Brake discs Centric or Duralast

Duralast Brake discs

I have applied Dynamic friction rotors and no OEM pads on my giulia at 29K miles, I am closing on 33 K and no issue what so ever (except for the ceramic pad dusts in the wheels). I would recommend not wasting your money on Alfa oem rotors or pads. They are ridiculously overpriced and if they were so good, you won’t be replacing them at 30 K. Rotos usually lasts well above 50K miles.

Pros: no issues, long lifespan
Cons: ceramic dust
Mileage: 33000 km

I switched to slotted, cyro treated centric rotors and they have been great. Went on in 2016 and have no complaints.

Pros: great, no complaints

Centric Brake discs

Odysseys are also famous for warped rotors, and the most common recommendation is Centric rotors to stay in the affordable camp.

Pros: affordable, common recommendation

Duralast Brake discs

The EBC Yellowstuff pads didn't last as long as the OE pads. The Alfa EBC rotors still are shipping with Gen1 "ThermicBlack" coating on them, which isn't as good as the Geomet/Geospec coating that EBC claims to now be using on new production parts. The EBC Gen1 coating rusts and looks like a pretty nasty rotor in just two years. I went with the EBC rotors in 2021 because I didn't want Chinese parts either, and the EBC items are made in the UK (and pads may be made in the USA).So when I did the rear brakes again this year (rear EBC YS pads shot in 23k miles), I went back to the OE Alfa rear pads. I ordered the EBC rotors, but when they showed up with the Gen1 coating that sucks, I returned them. And I ended up having to buy Dynamic Friction Geospec/Geomet coated rotors, which are made in China. The Dynamic Friction rotors were well packaged (much better than the EBCs). So far, they're completely fine after maybe 100 miles.

Pros: good packaging, fine performance
Cons: short lifespan, poor coating
Mileage: 23000 km
