Brake caliper WILWOOD or POWER STOP

POWER STOP Brake caliper

I bought some Power Stop DE calipers/rotors at a good price from rock auto, unfortunately they powder coat them red before they rebuild them. I knew this before buying them so today I prepped and painted them black to match the rears.

Pros: good price
Cons: powder coat them red

WILWOOD Brake caliper

I run these calipers and track my s13. They are great. I heard from other racing guys that the 4 pots make the pads wear in diagonal; they switched to the 6 pots ans it solved the issue. They run slick tyres, i only use UHP. I use DTC60 from hawk. I have custom made brackets and hats, with 315 x 32mm rotors.

Pros: great performance, solved wear issue
Cons: pads wear diagonally (4-pot)
Vehicle: Nissan

WILWOOD Brake caliper

I put willwoods on my track/autox supercharged NB. They are great, the extra grab, and need to use less pressure is great. I highly suggest the upgrade.

Pros: great grab, less pressure
Vehicle: Mazda

POWER STOP Brake caliper

I installed the full power stop kit, drilled and slotted with the extreme pads and red powder coated calipers. All work very well and still look good after 13k miles or so.

Pros: work very well, look good
Mileage: 13000 km

POWER STOP Brake caliper

Two calipers failed in the first year. I tried to repair it when I finally took apart the seals were junk and they had never been put in properly at manufacturer. The pistons had rust on them! Understanding manufacturing can go bad. Now today I heard a grinding and pulled my wheels off my Jeep only to find a third caliper had frozen and completely ripped through the brake pad and damaged the rotor. Not to mention all the paint that was so pretty on these things has peeled off.

Cons: caliper failure, rust, paint peeled
Mileage: 5000 km
