Battery Varta or OEM Mercedes

Historically, OEM Mercedes batteries are really good and last many years.

Halt nur die Klassiker, alle 15j mal eine Batterie tauschen oder die wasserpumpe.

However, the choice that I currently consider most balanced in terms of performance/duration/cost is the VARTA Silver Dynamic AGM 95Ah.

Varta working for 6 years

Varta are the best ones I ever used. I use them in my car key too and its the only battery that lasts years instead of 2 months at most.

Everyone's suggesting things that might save you half a percent or so, but no one has pointed out that by driving at 80mph, you lose *around 30% more battery* than if you were doing 70mph over the same distance

I still use a factory Audi (Varta) from 2014, so 11 years, but I'm not sure it will survive the first -15-25C this winter.

If the battery dropped to 9V it is probably defective.
