Yeah, the oem Panasonic battery is easy to kill. I replaced mine (2022 Turbo) with an AGM type. Most all batteries are made by Johnson Controls, under different names. The cheapest price I found was $179 with a 4 year warranty at Walmart. Everstart Platinum group 35. Was a 10 min job to remove and replace. They can even test your old one. The agm type is in the deep cycle family, it can be discharged quite a bit without any issues, the stock battery (flooded acid type) is easy to damage.

Pros: AGM type, deep cycle
Cons: OEM battery easy to kill
Vehicle: Mazda
Part number: GROUP 35

My 2019 Mazda 3 died on me randomly a couple months ago. The dealership ran a test on it and it came out fine. I changed it anyway as it was a stock 5 year old battery. It’s been fine since, even in the -20°C temps where I am.

Pros: fine even in cold
Vehicle: Mazda 3

Panasonic Battery

I just replaced the battery on my eco drive from maybe 2008ish? Battery itself was 14 bucks on ebay, oem brand(Panasonic). Swap took 5 minutes.

Pros: easy swap, oem brand

My neighbor bought a Prius 15 years ago, whoever they came out, the dealer told him it would cost $5000 for a new battery replacement. It lasted until 2024, it cost $1500 to have new battery put in,aftermarket of course

Pros: price went down
Cons: aftermarket battery

OEM Toyota Battery

See alot of "battery replacement cost" blah blah. 1) I have had 4 hybrid work cars (3 Camry and 1 Prius) All driven to 150k or more miles without battery issue. 2) Battery is warrantied by Toyota for 10 yrs unlimited miles 3) If you drive car alot the battery will last along time. If it sits 5 days week and you dont drive alot the battery has a small chance to be bad in 10 yrs. 10 YEARS and that like worst case if sits and not driven combined with being outside in really hot or really cold or both (Northeast). I've never seen it though in 4 cars.

Pros: battery lasts long time
Cons: small chance battery bad
Vehicle: Toyota Camry
Mileage: 241401 km

Panasonic Battery

After the original battery, i replaced it with a Panasonic battery (nasa ₱5k that time) in 4th quarter of 2019. Etong panasonic battery life, last June 2024 ko lang napalitan (after 4 to 4.5yrs of service )????

Out of stock yung Panasonic so pinagtyagaan ko nalang yung Motolite priced at ₱7k recently (shucks i hope this battery lasts kahit 2yrs).

Pros: 4 to 4.5yrs of service
Cons: Motolite, hope lasts 2yrs
Vehicle: Nissan

I have a 10+ year old Prius C that had a 100k-mile warranty on the battery. It failed at 108k and cost $4k to replace. It's at 230k miles now, and I expect to have to replace it again (but who knows?)

Pros: car has been rock-solid
Cons: battery failed, costly replacement
Mileage: 173791 km
