Battery OEM Subaru or OEM KIA

OEM KIA Battery

Der SoH von Papas eNiro 64kwh (2020) ist laut OBD Dongle nach 100.000km noch bei ca 96%. Bisher keine merklichen Reichweitenverluste. Kommt soweit wie am ersten Tag.

Pros: sehr gute Batterielebensdauer, keine Reichweitenverluste
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 100000 km

I’m in the UAE, where summers hit around 50°C. This Forester is my first car with auto start-stop, and I’m impressed that the battery lasted a solid 4 years. With my driving habits (lots of short runs), my previous cars’ batteries would barely survive 1–1.5 years. This one lasted more than double that.

Pros: long lifespan, good in hot climate

Another is that the OEM Kia battery just sucks…they fail. The fix is to get a new battery that doesn’t suck. Kia will replace the dead one within warranty but you’ll get another dodgy OEM battery. Most people seem to trend towards buying a good AGM aftermarket battery for this.

Pros: good AGM aftermarket battery
Cons: dodgy OEM battery
Vehicle: Kia
