I did just replace the battery in the Trans Am in the fall after 15 years (bought when I picked the car up - I really got my money's worth on that Duralast). It had never been on a tender and that car sees maybe 1500 miles in a big year. But of course it also has virtually zero parasitic drain. I didn't even realize how weak it was progressively getting until I had a no start moving it out of the garage for a wash. It started so much easier on the new batt, I was actually laughing.

Pros: easier start with new battery
Cons: weak before replacement
Mileage: 2414 km

OEM Subaru Battery

Subaru OEM batteries can be pretty shit in cold weather. Even the service department at my dealership admits this. I eventually fed up with my Subaru batteries chugging in cold weather and replaced them with Interstate AGM batteries (with more CCA). I haven’t had any troubles since.

Pros: no troubles since
Cons: shit in cold weather
Vehicle: Subaru

Subaru are known for using cheap batteries, winter just makes it even worse. within the first 2 weeks of buying a 2022 Outback, i junked the battery and put in a great aftermarket one.

Pros: great aftermarket one
Cons: cheap batteries

OEM Subaru Battery

Wife’s Ascent had a factory battery that last maybe 2 winters. Replaced it was a yellow top and haven’t had any problems since. Subaru even gave us credit for it so that was nice

Pros: no problems since
Cons: lasted only 2 winters
Vehicle: Subaru

Duralast Battery

I'm about to replace the battery on my 2013 acura tl 3.5L, looking for some advice on choosing between two batteries. The two batteries im looking at are the ACDelco Advantage 24FS or the Duralast ProPower Plus 24F-DL. They are similar in specs, same CCA though the duralast does have about 100 more cranking amps and 17 minutes more of reserve time. The acdelco comes with 18month warranty while the duralast has 2 years.

Pros: more cranking amps, longer warranty
Cons: more expensive
Vehicle: Acura TL

OEM Subaru Battery

It's a known issue that Subaru batteries fail much too early. Subaru began warranting great numbers of them a few years ago.... And they kept using "The same faulty batteries"!!! ...and they still are.

Cons: fails too early, faulty batteries
Vehicle: Subaru

I had this happen in my 2020 outback around 37k miles. Dead battery was the culprit. Fortunately I shut off all my electronics and lights and it had just enough power to get it to restart. I got the battery replaced by Subaru under the extended 5 year warranty from a settlement for premature battery failure. It failed right after my 36k service at the dealer I think the car was about 4 years old at the time.

Pros: replaced under warranty
Cons: dead battery, premature failure
Mileage: 59545 km

This happened to me during rush hour on a busy street! 2020 Legacy, they told me it was a known issue with the battery and replaced it for free. It was an incredibly stressful morning though.

Pros: replaced for free
Cons: stressful morning, known issue
Vehicle: Subaru Legacy
