Yeah, the oem Panasonic battery is easy to kill. I replaced mine (2022 Turbo) with an AGM type. Most all batteries are made by Johnson Controls, under different names. The cheapest price I found was $179 with a 4 year warranty at Walmart. Everstart Platinum group 35. Was a 10 min job to remove and replace. They can even test your old one. The agm type is in the deep cycle family, it can be discharged quite a bit without any issues, the stock battery (flooded acid type) is easy to damage.

Pros: AGM type, deep cycle
Cons: OEM battery easy to kill
Vehicle: Mazda
Part number: GROUP 35

My 2019 Mazda 3 died on me randomly a couple months ago. The dealership ran a test on it and it came out fine. I changed it anyway as it was a stock 5 year old battery. It’s been fine since, even in the -20°C temps where I am.

Pros: fine even in cold
Vehicle: Mazda 3

I just replaced the battery on my eco drive from maybe 2008ish? Battery itself was 14 bucks on ebay, oem brand(Panasonic). Swap took 5 minutes.

Pros: easy swap, oem brand

OEM Nissan Battery

San Antonio Leaf driver here, a Leaf is fine in Texas as long as you don't want to do road trips (battery heating gets to be an issue around 250 miles on a 40kWh on the interstate). This sub is overwhelmingly negative on the Leaf, despite it being a good local commuter.

Pros: fine for local commuter
Cons: battery heating on road trips
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

Just had to replaced my battery in my 2022 Mazda 3. I’ve always heard people say the batteries are crap in these cars. There’s no way you should be replacing a OEM battery yet. They use some crap Panasonic battery.

Cons: poor quality, short lifespan
Vehicle: Mazda 3

OEM Nissan Battery

Shop Forman and Nissan tech of 15 years, lately we have seen a ton of frontiers come in for battery discharging. Some will be batteries that do test bad, some have been discharging for no reason even after confirming no parasitic drains, some believe the Telematics control unit is staying on/relaying to Nissan servers causing drains. With the variable charging systems controlled by the ECM/IPDM all of it just seems to be a recipe for electrical disaster. Not a fan of any of it

Cons: battery discharging, electrical disaster
Vehicle: Nissan
