OEM batteries are made from fairy dust. I still have my original one in my E92, made in 2007. Def recommend getting an OEM battery.

Pros: excellent longevity, original quality

OEM Chevrolet Battery

It wouldn't be a bad idea. But also you never know. My old car's battery lasted 8 years before I finally had to replace it. Sometimes things just chug along for a long time

Pros: battery lasted 8 years
Vehicle: Chevrolet

The bolt (possibly the cheapest used EV available) batteries last well into the 200,000mi lifespan. My insurance lowered $80 when I bought my first EV. My state started charging an extra $150 to register an EV in 2019. About the same as the average ICE owner would pay in gas tax.

Pros: batteries last long
Vehicle: Chevrolet Bolt
Mileage: 321868 km

Generally speaking the ownership cost is low. I have had a 2013 Volt since new. I hardly ever need the engine to run, so it has had 6 oil changes in 12 years. I have done no other engine maintenance. It still has its original traction battery and is still performing well.

Pros: original traction battery good
Mileage: 215669 km

OEM BMW Battery

Tried them all at some point and whatever BMW OE does to those they last 2-3X longer. I literally just replaced a 14 year old battery last September….fuckin insane longevity with the OEM ones.

Pros: long lifespan, excellent durability

OEM BMW Battery

Pros: robuste Batterie
Cons: 10-15% Reichweitenverlust
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 80000 km

530e with a little over 20,000 miles shows 10 miles electric range on a nice summer day. It used to show 15 when new. BMW said that the drop was not warranty worthy.

Cons: reduced electric range, not warranty worthy
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 32187 km
