Rating 5.0

Generally speaking the ownership cost is low. I have had a 2013 Volt since new. I hardly ever need the engine to run, so it has had 6 oil changes in 12 years. I have done no other engine maintenance. It still has its original traction battery and is still performing well.

Pros: original traction battery good
Mileage: 215669 km

Energizer Battery

I typically use what is shipped with the packaging. Most of my red dots are trijicon and they ship with energizer so I will continue to use it. I feel the companies do their own testing trail and error with battery life and usage at all power levels under all temperatures.

Pros: good battery life

Energizer Battery

Duracell lasted 18 months on my RMR 3.25 Type 2 on auto setting, Energizer lasted 23 months on same setting!

Pros: Energizer lasts longer
Cons: Duracell shorter lifespan

Energizer Battery

Having ran both Duracell procell, and Energizer lithiums in RMR's, the energizers last 3+ years. I've gotten 2-2.5 years out of Duracell.

Pros: Energizer lasts longer
Cons: Duracell shorter lifespan

OEM Chevrolet Battery

I drove a first gen Chevy Volt before I bought my 2022 MYP. I actually loved the Volt but it didn't have much range. The Chevy Volt had about 37 miles of range and my round trip to work and back was 34 miles. I drove that car on all electric 95% of the time.

Pros: loved the Volt
Cons: limited range
