Battery Bosch or OEM Volkswagen
And yet my 2008 VW had a Bosch battery out the factory ????♂️.
Fucking thing lasted 10 years or so though. So credit to Bosch for that one!
I've had good luck with Bosch (made by Varta iirc) and Yuasa.
Change it when it can no longer meat a battery test to spec, which has good margin before it starts causing issues, like freaked out ECU or hard starting.
OEM VW Battery lasted 7/8 years, despite me nuking it by foolishly leaving my lights on. Sad day.
I replaced the battery of my 18 SE this year and did not code the battery. I replaced it with an OEM one from VW’s parts department and had no issues
Change the battery to a bosch one, I had this issue and my car does 600 miles a week for work took it to toyota and they just kept charging it then giving it back to die again the next Monday morning, they tried to say I wasn't driving it enough until they pulled up the service history (2020 with 54k miles) but they still wouldn't agree to replacing the battery
My golf 2010 VW dashboard ****s down but car remains running. When it don't start take out the battery touch the two cables together with out the battery. For 15 seconds to reboot the car and it starts back.
On a Jetta, it will leave you stranded, and it being a VW, the symptoms will be nothing like a dead battery, most likely.
My experience: Stay away from Bosch.
I've had a couple of issues with my BMW 5-series, I found Bosch batteries don't last as long as they should. I changed them twice in the span of 3 years or so, each time resetting the battery management system with the correct capacity. I changed it to a Deka Intimidator and I'm much happier with it.
