AutoZone. their Duralast Batteries have worked so well out here in CO.. i have abused them and used them and they still run strong... My buddy drove 10 miles on just the battery when the serp belt broke on his 2.0 and the battery made it, no problem...
Autozone Duralast gold, I think it was a 75 or 78 series, your cables should be just long enough to reach. I got a good deal on mine, and didn't have any trouble with cable length.
Just get a good battery from a known "brand" manufacturer (Bosch, etc) - they will last much longer than a supercheapie
I got a Bosch Battery from Pep Boys. It was 90 bucks but it has a KILLER warranty. I forget exactly but it has road side assistance. 3 year free replacement and like 7 year total I think. Fit PERFECTLY. It looked exactly like the old stock battery other than the acid level thingy.
I replaced mine with an OEM battery from the dealership. Both mine and my wife's OEM batteries lasted 5+ years. We replaced hers 3 years ago with a Duralast or whatever - starting to leak at the terminal I'll be going back to OEM on hers very shortly.
When I worked at AutoZone we carried the OEM Bosch battery, and it was about the price of the Duralast Gold.
I bought a Bosch 48-700B from Pep Boys. The guy that helped me knew a lot about batteries and looked up the right one in the computer without any problem.
I've been using a Duralast battery for the past 2 years with no problems...
My 2.8-year old mk6 GTI OEM battery started to show signs of aging about a month ago. It took longer to start when the car is cold and finally it failed to start yesterday. I called VW roadside assistance, got a jump start and went to Autozone, bought a Duralast Platinum AGM battery with size H6/48 . More to follow after the pics.
duralast has giving me nothing but probs.
