Alternator VALEO or Motorcraft
I had to order a motorcraft alternator which hasn't given me any problems 6 months later.
Cheapest for me was a new Valeo unit from Rockauto. Cheaper than Turner too.
+1 for Valeo. This job wasn\u2019t fun.
I replaced mine with an oem valeo
Uma pesquisa no auto doc, tens alternadores Valeo entre os 230 e os 350.
Yesterday I replaced my 90A B brand alternator (thank you, previous 8 owners) with a Valeo 120 Amp unit. So far seems to be working fine with 14.15V to the battery at idle and with minimal or max power draw.
I also noticed that the alternator looks like a remanufactured unit. I’ve been reading about how these PCMs really don’t like reman units that are not built perfectly to spec. It’s best practice to replace these with only motorcraft units.
Been there with a Motorcraft alt. 181K miles. She stopped charging. No batter light on the dash. I laid it to rest and paid my respects.
The indy shop I used diagnosed it as a bad alternator; I am so lucky ( s a r c a s m ) to have the Valeo (mega $$$$$) unit, they swapped it out a week later.
The alternator was replaced, car died again two weeks later. The Valeo OEM was deemed defective. Back in the shop for a warranty change, still getting voltage fluctuations.
