Alternator OEM Toyota or OEM Honda
the oem has been good for 5 years now
I have a 2001 Honda ST1100 and the bike is a beast. My alternator went out and I had to find a compatible model on ebay because they don't offer the OEM anymore.
2004 Camry, had it since my grandfather, did not break down a single time and still on oem stuffs except an alternators and some brake. The most reliable daily I ever had.
Only use Honda oem denso alternator. Yes they are expensive but you will be replacing it again if you use an off brand. Been there, done that.
He replaced the alternator and serpentine belt. Parts $208 for alternator and belt. Labor $100. Limited lifetime warranty on alternator and 3 years on belt. Honda Civic.
They're pretty expensive. Our Honda Odyssey needed one and it was $700 remanufactured. The labor is pretty easy but the part is pricey
FWIW when I had to replace the alternator on my 2008 last summer, the dealer only had OEM Toyota remans. The first one had a bad regulator or something and was clicking like crazy out of the box. They exchanged it no questions but said that's nearly never happened. Next one has been fine.
I have a 2013 manual. I've had to put 3 or 4 alternators in mine. The last one literally lasted a year, luckily it was still under warranty, and I only had to pay for the labor to have it changed out.
I've had bad luck with aftermarket alternators. Whether I put them on due to customer request, due to price difference or had them come in with issues. Sometimes not charging while still new, or relatively new. Sometimes the charging light on even though it's charging properly.
My worst breakdown? A 2003 Toyota Tundra I had died on the highway from a bad alternator and I was able to pull over to the shoulder.
