Alternator OEM Toyota or OEM Audi

OEM Toyota Alternator

I have a manual 2007 Toyota yaris with +185k miles on it and the only thing that's ever needed replaced on that car (besides brakes, oil, and tires) is the alternator a few months ago, which I was able to do easily for <$150.

Pros: easy to replace, cheap
Vehicle: Toyota Yaris
Mileage: 297728 km

OEM Toyota Alternator

All I've done/had done for maintenance is a few oil changes, replaced the alternator and serpentine belt, had rear brake pads and rotors replaced, replaced the battery, new tires, and new headlight bulbs. Nothing too complicated or expensive

Pros: easy maintenance, inexpensive

OEM Audi Alternator

I used an Audi B6 alternator in my TDi Touareg. I could have repaired it but it was cheap enough to buy. It's an easy job too.

Pros: cheap enough to buy, easy job

OEM Audi Alternator

My alternator died in 32k kilometers.. (Audi Japan took care of it so not that bad). Otherwise the 3 lit twin turbo engine is amazing.

I love driving it on the highways, however small roads in Tokyo and small parkings are a bit challenging sometimes but the 4 wheel steering comes handy.

Pros: amazing twin turbo engine
Cons: alternator died
Vehicle: Audi Q8
Mileage: 32000 km

My Q8 alternator died today. 3 year old car 36k miles on the clock. Luckily I was right next an Audi dealership with a garage when the display panel told me to stop driving and pull over safely. When the mechanics got to the car they couldn\u2019t even start it.

Pros: near Audi dealership
Cons: car wouldn't start
Vehicle: Audi Q8
Mileage: 57936 km
