I have 260 on mine. Kept a log book of all maintenance ive had since I bought it in 2013. Regular oil changes at 4000. Even though the oil says 10,000. I use Castro edge. Got a KnN air filter that i clean every oil change.
I bought the washable k&n one on Amazon because I died a little inside when I saw how much they wanted for a shitty filter
I use K&N washable filters for both my engine and cabin. Should last the life of the vehicle.
I have used them for years and feel the car runs better. I use the K&N cleaning kit and their instructions on YouTube and have never experienced fouled MAF issues.
2020 wrx premium has 217000 miles, stock except K&N air filter. Change oil every 6000 miles and tap out and remove debris from air filter every 3000 miles and clean every 6000.
I’d do have a K&N air filter which is supposedly good for better mpg.
I’ve used KN filters in many cars. I had one in my WRX for 13 years. It’s a great filter but the filtration isn’t as good as normal filters. About every 15-20,000 miles you need to clean it, that means you won’t be able to drive your car for like 12 hours while your filter dries. Then you need to re-oil it and make sure you don’t use too much or it will fuck in your sensors.
The reusable filters don’t filter as good as the paper ones you throw away. I can’t understand why anyone recommends drop ins. Just do any amount of research and everything says the OEM style paper filters that are meant to be replaced have a far better ability to filter the air being taken in. I guess the only benefit to the reusable ones like K&N or aFe are the longevity factor meaning you can clean and reuse so they cut down on maintenance cost a little.
Do you know why you gain so much hp with a K&N filter? Cause they dont filter shit
I do not recommend the K&N if you ride in any dusty conditions. The primary reason the K&N flows more air is that it lets more stuff through it. Dust is the last thing you want going into your engine.
