Installed the K&N. No butt dyno difference, but overall acceleration feels smoother and there's a tad bit intake noise i can hear at WOT.
K&N if it's available. Million mile warranty, and never need to purchase another filter... ever. All you have to do is every few months take it out and clean it, then spray with the recharging oil and reinstall. I've had one on every single vehicle I've ever owned. The HP and MPG gains are smaller than advertised, but still noticeable.
Neuspeed wires Bosh plugs K&n
Engine Info: -K&N air filter.
Out of an independent test the K&N filter earned 2nd in the least amount of particulates, with the stock filter material containing 498 particulates vs. 501 for the K&N.
I purchased a K&N air filter and cleaning kit for $50 shipped. This alone will last the life of the vehicle.
It's winter in Toronto and it's about -10 outside.. and i just put in a VR conversion... new Sparkplugs new wires new K&N Filter Neuspeed Chip Air Filter Oil just changed New G11 Coolant. anyway i keep checking the MFA and the oil temp is consistently in the 100-118 Celcius range.. during traffic or cruising around the streets its at 96-100 and when im going good on the Hiways at around 100-118
I have run K&N's on all my cars as far back as I can remember. I'm waiting for spring when I can do a baseline comparision of HP before and after the K&N install with my GTECH Pro competition before I do the installation.
K&N gauze construction always worry me. Lots of pinholes for dirt to pass through. People clean them too often, so it doesn't filter well (they are designed to perform dirty).
The K&N out of the box messed up the MAF on my old 2.5l Jetta, but 2.5l's are notorious for having a delicate MAF with an aftermarket intake.
