I am no sure 100% what caused the original P2111 error (throttle body stuck open) but with the new (used) throttle body no more error codes.

Pros: no more error codes

The most significant modification I made was installing the Weber "Big Throat" throttle body. It transformed the engine, sort of like tuning a turbo today. It moved all the action down to the low rpm range so the car would scream. If you were at stop sign taking a right and hit the gas you could barely hold on to the steering wheel (it was manual) due to the massive torque steer.

Pros: transformed the engine
Cons: massive torque steer
Vehicle: Volkswagen

My Subaru is a torque converter auto with a DBW throttle. Between changing to a ported throttle body and altering the tip in enrichment and requested torque tables, the throttle response is N/A like as long as there aren't big changes in load.

Pros: throttle response is N/A
Vehicle: Subaru

GENERAL MOTORS Throttle body

I cleaned out my throttle body when I bought the car with 60k miles and the damn thing looked like clogged arteries. 10K miles later I had to take the throttle body off while doing some other work and I was shocked at the amount of diesel snot that had accumulated after I had just cleaned it.

Pros: easy to clean
Cons: clogged arteries, builds up fast
Mileage: 60000 km

Throttle body replacement, just last week because it gave up. Of course, not covered under warranty. Apparently powertrain warranty doesn\u2019t cover things attached to the engine. Smh.

Cons: throttle body failure
Vehicle: Ford Maverick

BBK TB found in a junk yard. That is where it should have stayed. Send that BBK back to the junk pile where it belongs.

Cons: should stay in junkyard

I had a 2016 SR5 (bought brand new) with 98k miles that started having electrical/sensor issues. No problems at all previous to that point and kept an impeccable service record. Even the dealership couldn’t figure it how to fix the issue after 10 months (& thousands of $) spent replacing sensors, checking wires, replacing the throttle body, etc. Next step would have been paying for a whole new wiring harness & it wasn’t a guaranteed fix. The service manager actually recommended I clear the code & trade it in. So, I did, as much as I didn’t want to get rid of it. Now I’m in a 2020 TRD ORP (used) with 28k miles. Fingers crossed no more electrical issues. ???????? I have loved both my 4Runners!

Pros: impeccable service record
Cons: electrical/sensor issues
Vehicle: Toyota 4runner
Mileage: 157716 km
