I did not, and bought the Denso Iridiums. I have less misfires and slightly stronger gas mileage since install. Just my experience.

Pros: less misfires, stronger gas mileage

NGK Spark plug

I have been runing the NGK BKR7E which is one step colder than stock (NGK Part# 6097) and I have a K04 with GIAC K04 software and other mods. They work great with a .028 gap. I change my plugs every 5K.

Pros: work great, one step colder

NGK Spark plug

I just installed some of these NGK (BKR6E) plugs. I set the gap to .030 These went my 99 A4 1.8T Avant Quattro. The car is stock except for a K&N filter. Idle seems awesome and flawless all the way through the rev range.

Pros: awesome idle, flawless rev range
Vehicle: Audi A4
Part number: BKR6E

I just replaced my plugs in an 89 16v yesterday. I ended up getting the Bosch platinum +2. I was leery of the platinums as everybody seems to knock them, but my car runs fine. They were 4 bucks each.

Pros: car runs fine

Autolite Spark plug

After changing the plugs from OEM's to Autolite 3923's, the coil packs started popping up. I've read that the Autolites are smaller than the OEM's, so they don't hold on as tight...and then somebody else said this is bogus and they're both the same. Whatever the reason, the coil packs on my car do not like the Autolites.

Cons: coil packs started popping
