Bosch Oil filter

Nothing special about it- it's one of the easiest cars I've changed oil on. As others have said, just stick to a good quality OEM-spec filter and full synth 0w-20 oil. And it does help to replace the drain plug washer every time, or else it has a tendency to have a few small drips on the plastic splash guard by the time you next change the oil. Most modern filters will have the anti- blowback valve that the OEM filters have. I use Bosch premium oil filters and Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20 full synthetic.

Pros: easy oil change, good quality
Cons: small drips

OEM Honda Oil filter

Yeah P0740 is the writing on the wall that the tc is on the way out. However, I'd try a couple things before throwing in the towel. Firstly, changing all the fluid out and replacing the filter is a start.

Mobil Oil filter

Mobil 1 is the most consistently highest rated oil. Royal Purple's filters are probably the highest rated, but Mobil 1's filters are also highly rated and "Just use the OEM ones" comes in third.

Pros: highest rated

Motorcraft Oil filter

Motorcraft are good. Mobil1 Filters are very good, and are a great idea if your going to for long OCI's. I've used filters from Baldwin - they got very good reviews on the cut-apart tests - and I have a place where I can order a half dozen at a time for less than what I pay for Frams at Walmart. I am using Motorcraft on my F250

Pros: good quality, long OCI
Vehicle: Ford

Bosch Oil filter

Youll be fine without a subaru filter, if youre using it long enough that it creates the pressure to go into bypass you need to stop being cheap and replace the filter each change and change more often.

I use Bosch Long Life D3300 oil filters and Rotella T6 5w40, gonna see how Motul 8100 5w40 does in comparison.

Avoid 5w30s most of them sheer to a 20 weight by the end of the change interval if you drive your car like its meant to be.

I've never had issues, and I oil test my car a few times a year.

Cons: 5w30 oil sheers
Part number: D3300

Fram Oil filter

I used royal purple 5w-30, and a ****ty fram oil filter since I couldnt get a hold of any others. Anyway, Ive been driving my car everyday and its been running pretty much like it did before the oil change. All of the sudden yesterday when I started it, it sounded a little odd to me. I let it warm up and went on my way. Well as soon as I got on the road i noticed it, the turbo wasnt spooling until about 3200rpm (max boost). It used to hit max at about 2600

Pros: turbo spooling easier before
Cons: turbo lag, odd sound
Vehicle: Volkswagen

K&N Oil filter

Overpriced garbage. There is no proof that these synthetic type filters do any better job filtering than a high quality OEM or equivalent. I use OEM, for $13, at 10K miles pretty inexpensive and oil analysis is always good. OEM is best IMO.

Cons: Overpriced garbage, no proof of better filtering
