I run Morimoto Sealed 7's. They're nice and bright, but aren't hot enough to melt snow accumulation.
Owner reviews for headlights
I got Autopal glass housings with regular halogen h4 bulbs years ago. They throw plenty of light and look stock.
I run the H4 conversions from HELLA and they have been great. A lot more light than the old sealed beams and retains the stock look unlike the dorky looking LEDs. I ran a relay harness so they get power direct from the battery.
My 15 brz had a dial under the left side of the steering wheel.
Not sure about the Forester, but common issue on Outbacks. You can't adjust the brightness, but you can adjust the angle. You need a long shank Phillips screwdriver and you can angle the lights down a bit
I picked up my morimotos years ago after hitting of all things - a chicken and it cracked an OEM. Insurance covered the expensive OEMs so I opted to replace with morimotos. Several times I experienced high beam/low beam issues. Every time I reached out, morimoto provided quick and excellent customer service. Shipped me replacement lights on 3 occasions.
I\u2019ve had Depo for 4 years now, on a car kept outside. Mine have not leaked at all, but the lenses have started to fade. I\u2019m about to restore them soon.
Depos are junk, they yellow and get water inside them anytime you wash your car.
My biggest issue is when there’s slushy snow mix on the roads other cars pass by and it splashes on to the front bumper. The headlight cavities are just collectors for this slush and after a bit they’re full of slush and headlights don’t work at all anymore.
Oh, also all the snow got stuck inside the headlights and significantly decreased the lightings.
