RAVENOL Engine oil

I have that engine in my car and I've been obsessed about finding the best lubricant from day 1 of purchase... it seems like in general most engines in the 2000-2014 era, but especially om642, like a thicker oil, 5w40-0w40, with ravenol vmo being the only oil in there that had incredibly low metals in it by far, even at a 10-15k km oil sampling.

Pros: low metals, high viscosity

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

Mk7.5 GTI 2019, bought new and ran 0W-20 for the first couple years for warranty (approx 70k) and then switched to Liqui Moly Top Tech 4200 / 5W-30.

I'm curently at 134k and no issues, I'm switching to the leichtlauf 5w-40 on my next service for the extra protection and because I can get it a few dollars cheaper than the Top Tech 4200.

Pros: no issues
Cons: switching for extra protection
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 134000 km

PENNZOIL Engine oil

For the money, Pennzoil can't be beat, and I say that considering you can usually get it from Napa or Amazon around $7/qt. Idemitsu is also great, but hovers around $8 or $9/qt on Amazon or Napa.

Pros: great value for money
Cons: Amsoil better protection

RAVENOL Engine oil

Currently have Ravenol EFE 0w-16 in and have use Pennzoil Platinum, Eneos, and Idemitsu IFG7. I noticed bit of emulsified oil on the dipstick especially when I run in EV mode mostly. So definitely get it out on the highway on a daily basis if possible and get a used oil analysis. I have had 3 done and all three showed various 0w-16 oils shear down out of grade and their Flashpoints decrease.

Cons: oils shear down out of grade
Vehicle: Toyota
