Manufacturers
RED LINE Engine oil

I use Redline 5w-40 because I noticed my engine burns a quart every 2000miles using other brands or thinner grades. With RedLine there is barely any consumption.

Pros: low oil consumption
Cons: burns oil otherwise
Vehicle: MINI Countryman
Mileage: 2000 km

REPSOL Engine oil

Maganda yan, not all product line of Repsol ha pero yan specifically passed my standards.

High Starting TBN of 8.0, Noack of 5.6 which is very low (high mileage). Huwag maniwala sa "sintitik" mindsent, all motor oils are dino oils. Though, API SL lang ang performance, pero for it's price tas vouchers it's a good deal! Sulit yan. Kaysa sa mga motor oil na repacked at walang TDS/MSDS.

Pros: High Starting TBN, low Noack
Cons: API SL performance

Mobil Engine oil

I work in the automotive industry; and by far, Liqui Molly, Motul, and Total exceed Mobil 1. Mobil 1 has the recognition and they worked hard at marketing for many years. Independent German studies conclude that they are 3rd place at best when it comes to \"good quality\" oils.

Pros: good quality oils
Cons: 3rd place at best
Vehicle: Volkswagen

PENNZOIL Engine oil

  • Engine noise:
Rating 2.0

I got an oil change with Pennzoil 5W-40 Euro, which I was not too fond of, because the light weight of the oil made my lifter noise sound much more pronounced.

Cons: made lifter noise pronounced
Vehicle: Volkswagen
