AMG C63 cost $25k to replace camshaft. Well know issue with M156 engine with flat tappit that is meant for racing engine not a street engine.

Spent 12 years with Nissan, I promise you even the “genuine” parts are whatever they can get shoved into the same box. They used to ship a set of 4 cams for titans just wrapped in paper in a squared tube the exact shape of 4 cams. Took 9 sets to get 1 good set. That was taking 1 good cam for 4 different sets but requiring 9 sets to get 4 good cams.

Cons: poor quality control, many defective parts
Vehicle: Nissan

Replaced 2 windshields, 2 cam shafts (under warranty), 3 phasers (something to do with timing I think, I'm not a mechanic), and a ground short (caused by them crimping a wiring harness when fixing a cam shaft). The other day my rear diff lock fault was flashing. Looking it up, it's a known problem, many people just bypass it. It went away for now, so I'm leaving it as is. I have a manual transmission and the clutch has had a recall on it for a year or more with no fix.

Cons: multiple part failures, clutch recall
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 110110 km

Had one... that 2.3 was bad about the cam getting flat lobes on the rear of cam... due to the tilt of the engine, and the oil feed from the front.... as the oil cooled down, the sludge would wax out and settle in the rear of the oil galley, therefore cutting off oil to the rear lobes and followers.

Cons: cam getting flat lobes
