I just swapped to Endless ME20 for my non-daily, but it's not obnoxiously loud, I could see myself daily driving it.
Owner reviews for brake pads
I've got 160k kms on my front brake pads on my 2012 tdi.
Rear pads I've changed 3 times.
It's got exceptional engine braking.
I use brembro all the time, and they honestly last longer I think. I use them on my 9-3 2.8V6 convertible
Edit: I used the M-tec rotates drilled and grooved with the brembro brakes, front and rear
My braking is much better especially on a long drive with hot days, no brake fade at all
I'm currently running EBC yellows which have done me well for daily use(if you don't mind the dust), Autobahn driving, and on Spa and the Nurburgring.
Akebono ceramic is the best you can get for stock applications. Very low dust and made in usa. my LX gets Akebono pro act pads.
Pads look good but the rotors look like they have fine grooves in them. For a Honda I’d use centric rotors & akebono pads. You can’t go wrong with that combo.
Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic Pads + Centric Premium Rotors
• Pros: Affordable, reliable, low dust
• Cons: Not a performance upgrade, but solid for daily driving
The BIG difference is the brakes. In normal driving you're using one pedal driving, and this means two things. Firstly you're hardly ever using the actual brakes, almost all your braking in normal driving is through regen. Secondly because the regen braking is quite powerful, the actual physical brakes are relatively small. The brakes are great until they aren't, and they aren't great when you really need them.
Installed EBC SG two piece racing rotors and EBC RP1 pads on my M2 about three weeks ago. My rotors currently look like this (photos attached) after a recent track day - brakes felt like they were grinding while on track.
Used Brembo pads on my 535d, then gave them another try on my i30N. Will never buy again. Suitable only for casual, calm driving around the city. Overheat very easily, overall stopping performance got worse, brake pedal feeling became harder.
