No. Looks perfectly normal.
Owner reviews for brake pads
I've enjoyed my Hawk HPS 5.0 pads quite a bit, though I have the PP brakes. Handled a track day very well with no fade (I'm no pro so I'm sure they can fade if pushed hard enough).
Factory brake pads really are better but that's like the one part they seem to gouge the price on the worst, I usually try to get the closest thing to factory the aftermarket offers, you can usually get Akebono which might actually be the same as factory for quite a bit less on like Tire Rack or sometimes the local parts place will have them.
I went with EBC slotted with EBC red pads and it made a total difference in the bite and consistency of the braking on my 7.5.
Spend the money on the Akebono pads.\n\nI\u2019ve been around Napa an Carquest for my entire adult life and even the best from those brands DO NOT compare to the Akebono pads. You can get them from any parts retailer
I've had no problem with Wagner, Bosch, Hella/Pagid, and Brembo; Raybestos, Bendix, Beck/Arnley, Centric, etc are all solid options for a daily driver too.
I switched to red stuff after the OEM needed replacement. A little less brake dust but I have noticed that the red stuff are not going to last the 38k miles my OEM did. I believe I will get around 24k out of them.
Initially had a "tinny" sound PLUS a rubbing sound on the fronts that coincides with the wheel rotation PLUS a bit of squeel when stopping when cold. The sounds are still therre. It's very noticeable at low speeds (below 10MPH). Brake dust is very minimal.
Don’t get those pads, they squeak constantly.
they're Audi pads, with Extra squeek!
