I replaced mine a few years ago with new rotors from Zimmerman since it was the third change and I have been very happy with them. The stopping distance seems to be a bit better and more responsive. Also, they produce much less dust than the OEM VW pads and I believe have Kevlar mixed in the compound.

Pros: better stopping distance, responsive
Cons: rotors needed replacement
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 32186 km

I now use the Wagner pads the I can get through Advance. Last set went 60K and I just replaced them before the state inspection in October. Technically they would have passed but I just changed them out just so I didn't have to worry about it for a while. For $60 for an axle set, I can't complain. Cost way less, last much longer, easy on the rotors and don't dust the hell out of the wheels. They take a bit more brake pedal pressure but that is OK because it actually helps on brake modulation.

Pros: Cost way less, last longer
Cons: more brake pedal pressure
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 96560 km

Sorry it's a little late, but I've been using EBC yellows on my MK6 for double duty and I have no complaints other than the dust. They certainly make no noise.

Pros: make no noise
Cons: dusty

Hawk Performance Brake pads

All the people complaining about the noise of the Hawk, i cannot say that i experience the same result. They are a little squeakier than the OEM pads of course, but they aren't like full on race brake loud like people have reported. Maybe my experience is the outlier here, because i was really happy actually with them on the track

Pros: happy on the track
Cons: little squeakier than OEM

I've used EBC yellowstuff, works fine. I also love the Stoptech Street Performance pads, they have a higher temperature rating and are dirt cheap.

Pros: higher temperature rating

I stand by Carbotechs. Whether it's my S2000 or heavy E90, they've done great is hard lapping all day long. Depending on the car, XP10s in front and XP8s in the back work well for most. You can call them and they'll recommend the right pad. Their super noisy for street use but brilliant on the track.

Pros: brilliant on the track
Cons: super noisy street use
Vehicle: Honda S2000

Hawk Performance Brake pads

HP+ are fine on the track. They are not full-on race pads, but they will hold you down for the first few days back. We run those on the Scirocco LeMons car - it's so light that it never gets the brakes beyond warm. I also run them with summer tyres on my wagon - Great balanced pad that lets you know you are braking.

Pros: great balanced pad

The steering is good - very accurate and with decent feel getting through its electric assistance. And the brakes are epic: unfazed by even an extreme workout on track.

Pros: very accurate, decent feel
