It certainly possible. That was my experience, my plugs looked like that and worse. For me number 3 was soaking wet with oil. since replacing my cover I have zero oil loss over 5000 mile OCI, and my plugs stay dry.

It was the fuel injector #2. The repair was covered under the warranty extension issued by VW last year.
So I picked up the MK4 unit. It sounds different than the old unit. From what I read it's got gear reduction in it. Car starts fine. Glad to have some new tech in this old car, and it's funny, the MK1 unit has a 1 year warranty while the MK4 unit is lifetime. Put another check in the pro column for the MK4 unit!
Rallye 1.8T you are the man! Thanks for the tip and saving me a lot of time and money. The mk5 312x25mm rotors work on my setup. Only thing I have to do is run one thin washer between the bracket and spindle.
I have never had any issued with it. I've use for every pan or area required by Audi and VW. One tube from VW goes a long way. About 4 to 5 pans.
Yes it does sit inside of the frame rail. When my A2 was a daily driver year ago, I ran the same battery. The battery fit perfect and did not hit the power steering bottle at all.
I started to look at the fuel filter that I put in and noticed that people have been talking about different pressure regulators in the filters, I thought that maybe I put in the wrong one and someone else had done this before. So I changed the filter out for the latest VW OEM 6.6 Bar filter. Again this made an slight improvement
I've driven VWs for a long time now and I've always thought their glass was more susceptible to chips than other brands I've owned. Stone chips/cracks are pretty easy to get in VW glass.
Mk7 GTI, currently at 5k miles but strong mildew smell coming from the vents.. I know the cabin air filters will last at least 15-20k miles. Anyone have a similar issue?
My Rabbit's alternator lasted a solid 40,000 miles!
