I have owned several Jaguar 5.0 engines (XJ, XF, Range Rover) that have all made it to 100k+ with silent timing chains. All had their oil changed far more frequently than the manufacturer recommended (I usually go 5-7k vs 15k).

Recently, I pad-slapped the x-type with some of the other pads I had, on the used OEM rotors, and surprisingly it brakes just fine. It seems the issue with poor braking was likely the cheap rotors...
I had front and rear brakes(pads and rotors) done on my FPace at my normal mechanic for ~ $1200.
A colleague had it, endless battery problems.
The biggest issue which I decided not to purchase one is the steering rack is prone to cracking for no reason and mess up the electronic steering. I'm not sure if it's widespread and bound to happen or limited to certain vins and model years. However, it's not uncommon.
The battery on my first gen iPace has deteriorated over the last 8 years. So no the battery did not outlast this car unfortunately.
My XKR-S Jag needs O ring suspensions, water pump, fixed oil leak and new tires :) been at the shop for 3 weeks now.
