Detroit Axle Ball joint
Loyalrolokid
  • Clunks:
  • Steering precision:
  • Tire wear:
Rating 5.0

Ive had greasable Detroit Axle ball joints for over 50k miles now. I just grease them regularly and test them with the vehicle in the air and they are still perfect. Same brand tie rods all around. I haven't found oem ball joints from Toyota that are greasable and for that reason i wont get them (if someone sells them or finds them ill gladly buy them) In my experience, self greasable ball joints last longer than non serviceable oem with regular maintenance but thats my experience.

Pros: last longer with maintenance
Mileage: 80000 km

NITTO Tires
Impossible-Count8693
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 3.0

Second pair of Nitto A/Ts. Great off road, great longevity, smooth ride. Wet roads and wet boat ramps are deffinetly not their stong points. They do definnetly slip even on the slightest of wet weather so unfortunately I won't be buying another set.

Pros: great off road, great longevity
Cons: slip on wet weather

Nexen Tires

This one came with Nexen tires that were brand new when I purchased the truck. To be honest, these were the worst tires I have ever owned. Well, I have had a lot of issues in rain where these totally loose traction in the rain going perfectly straight. Didn't matter how fast I was traveling. The final straw was with my wife in light rain and a slightly wet road, turning onto an onramp at about 30mph and the entire rear end started sliding like we were on ice, without me trying to accelerate yet.

Pros: loose traction in rain
Cons: worst tires ever owned

OEM Toyota Windshield
YouLeaveMeAlone
  • Chips/cracks:
Rating 0.5

Owned 3 weeks, getting replaced Wednesday. I was parked in my garage for a week while I was out of town… came back to a crack (no kids, no pets, nothing from ceiling). Crack almost dead center starting from bottom, no chips or impact marks. Drove to windshield repair place 5 miles away, it had grown. The said it could still be fixed and couldn’t find any impact marks. Made appt for next day, by then crack had tripled in dive just sitting in the garage. Now being replaced with non-OEM glass since OEM glass sucks.

Cons: cracked without impact, crack grew rapidly, poor OEM quality
